I’m nit sure how the long season plays out but the Cubs are still hanging tough and took another positive step as they rallied past the visiting Mets on Thursday. The bad news was starter Travis Wood continued to struggle with all five runs plated on seven hits including three long balls through 4.1 innings pitched. Five relievers held New York off the scoreboard which gave the offense a chance to rally and they did despite just six hits and a pair of walks. Dexter Fowler pace the comeback with a 2-3 effort with a homer and three runs while Matt Szczur and Addison Russell knocked in runs and scored.Kyle Hendricks opens the series on the mound against visiting Pittsburgh. Hendricks is coming off of his best outing of the season in 3-2 loss ay Milwaukee (ND) where he tossed 5.1 scoreless frames.
