The Los Angles Dodgers and the Colorado Rockies face off on Friday at Dodger Stadium for game two of their MLB series of NL West teams.
The Los Angeles Dodgers have ben tough at home this season but they took a rare home loss losing to the Rockies on Thursday. Adrian Gonzalez and Yasmani Grandal each had two hits and Jimmy Rollins had a hit as the Dodgers scored four runs on nine hits. Starting pitcher Brett Anderson allowed five hits and two runs while striking out eight over 5.1 innings to not get a decision as Yimi Garcia blew the save and took the loss. The Colorado Rockies ended their 11-game losing streak by scoring three runs in the top of the ninth inning to beat the Dodgers. Carlos Gonzalez and Wilin Rosario each hit home runs and Charlie Blackmon had a hit as the Rockies scored five runs on nine hits. Starting pitcher Chad Bettis allowed seven hits and four runs while striking out three over 5.0 innings to not get a decision as Rafael Betancourt got the win and John Axford earned his fourth save. For Friday’s game the Rockies start Eddie Butler who has allowed 33 hits and 13 earned runs while striking out 19 over 31.1 innings for a 2-3 record and a 3.73 ERA.
Los Angeles is 10-5 in their last 15 games, 4-0 in game two of a series, and 21-7 in Kershaw’s last 28 starts against the NL West. Colorado is 15-7 following a win, 14-46 against a team with a winning record, and 1-9 against the NL West. Colorado is 5-17 in their last 22 games against Los Angeles.
For me this game is a no play as Kershaw just hasn’t been good enough to justify this price and it is way too big of a price even to throw in parlays but I do believe the Dodgers win the game.
