The Toronto Blue Jays look to leave Minute Maid Park with a win versus the Houston Astros.

The Toronto Blue Jays need to win a few games and turn the tide but right now things are not going well. The Blue Jays are having problems getting both their arms and bats on the same page and that trend continued in a 6-5 defeat at Minute Maid Park. Starter Marco Estrada threw the ball well enough with a pair of runs scored on three hits and four free passes while striking out eight over five innings. However, Jeff Francis and Liam Hendricks each allowed two runs apiece to squander an early lead. The Jays produced six hits and walked five times with Edwin Encarnacion smacking a two run jack while Russell Martin tripled in two more. Veteran left hander Mark Buehrle shoots for his third consecutive win when he opposes Houston Sunday. In back to back wins Buehrle has given up three runs on ten hits and a pair of BB in eleven frames.

USA TODAY Sports

The Houston Astros were hot and then cooled down but seem to have found their stride again. Saturday was another great offensive night that was almost negated by the pen. Starter Scott Feldman was on his game with three runs allowed on five hits and a trio of bases on balls while whiffing ten in 6.2 frames to up his record to 3-4. Luke Gregerson served up a two run bomb in the 9th to make things interesting but the offense did just enough. The Astros managed eight hits and four bases on balls with Chris Carter smacking a three run bomb while Evan Gattis went deep and drove in two. Marwin Gonzalez connected on a solo shot with all but one starter reaching base. The Astros are looking for a rebound from Collin McHugh after he suffered through his shortest outing of 2015. McHugh was hit hard in an 8-1 loss to San Francisco with seven runs plated (three earned) on seven hits in 4.2 innings.

Toronto are 1-7 in their last 8 games as an underdog and the over is 7-2-1 in their last 10 games as an underdog while the over is 12-4-1 in the Blue Jays last 17 on grass. Houston are 8-2 in their last 10 Sunday games and  are 19-7 in their last 26 overall while the Astros  are 19-7 in their last 26 games on grass. The over is 6-2 in the last 8 meetings. Interesting pitching match up but I’ll back the hotter team…
