The Atlanta Braves slipped to two games under .500 as they lost to the Giants on Friday. Freddie Freeman hit a home run and Cameron Maybin and Andrelton Simons each had two hits as the Braves scored two runs on six hits. Starting pitcher Michael Foltynewicz allowed five hits and two runs while striking eight over 6.2 innings to take the loss and fall to 3-2 for the season. For Saturday’s game the Braves start Williams Perez who has allowed 16 hits and six earned runs while striking out 16 over 13.1 innings for a 4.05 ERA.
San Francisco is 21-7 in their last 28 games, 8-2 against a team with a losing record, and 5-0 in Lincecum’s last five starts. Atlanta is 6-14 in their last 20 road games, 5-12 as a road underdog, and 2-13 against the NL West. Atlanta is 1-7 in their last eight meetings in San Francisco.
Lincecum is my early choice for Comeback Player of the Year and the Giants are red hot so I can’t go against either of them here.
