The Minnesota Twins look to stay on a roll when the Milwaukee Brewers visit Target Field.

The Milwaukee Brewers are struggling to get their footing this season and that has them sitting in the basement in the National League Central. The Brewers have dropped back to back contests after a 7-4 loss at St Louis on Wednesday. A five run Cardinals first put the Brew Crew behind the eight ball with starter Jimmy Nelson charged with all seven runs on seven hits over five frames. The offense racked up 14 hits with Gerardo Parra going 4-5 with a homer and two runs while Adam Lind went 2-4 with a pair of RBI’s. Milwaukee opens their series at Minnesota with veteran Kyle Lohse on the hill Thursday. Lohse has struggled in back to back defeats with 12 runs plated on 17 hits including three homers over 8.2 frames.

USA TODAY Sports

The Minnesota Twins own second in the American League Central and have their sights set on Kansas City and first. The Twins continue to stay right on the back of Kansas City with an 8-4 victory at Fenway Park on Thursday for consecutive wins. Starter Tommy Milone was charge with four runs (two earned) on nine hits through five innings before five relievers put up zeros. The bats racked up eleven hits and walked four times with Torii Hunter going 3-5 with a homer and three RBI’s with two runs scored while Brian Dozier and was 2-5 with two runs. Kyle Gibson looks to get back in the win column when he opposes the Brewers on Thursday. Gibson did not receive a decision in a 3-2 win over Toronto where he allowed both runs (one earned) on eight hits in 5.2 innings.

Milwaukee are 2-8 in their last 10 Friday games and  are 12-30 in their last 42 road games while the over is 20-8-1 in their last 29 Friday games. Minnesota are 21-7 in their last 28 home games and the under is 6-2 in their last 8 Friday games while the Twins are 8-3 in their last 11 overall. Milwaukee are 2-7 in the last 9 meetings. I’m going with the hotter team battling for first…
