The Baltimore Orioles shoot for another win at Progressive Field against the Cleveland Indians.
The Baltimore Orioles are still searching for that elusive hot streak that will propel them to the top of the American League East. The Orioles have won consecutive contests after a 5-2 win at Progressive Field on Friday behind quality hitting and pitching. Starter Chris Tillman came up big with both runs plated on six hits and a trio of BB over 6.1 frames to up his record to 3-7. The Orioles eleven hit attack saw Adam Jones go 2-4 with a homer with two RBI’s and two runs while Matt Weiters was 2-3 with a run and two runs driven in. Ubaldo Jimenez looks for a win against his former team when he takes the hill Saturday. Jimenez was outstanding in a 5-2 loss at Houston with two runs allowed on four hits and eight K’s over six frames.

The Cleveland Indians appeared to have rebounded from a poor start but much more is needed in an ultra competitive American League Central. The Indians had won four of five to close within a game of .500 before Friday’s defeat knocked them back a notch. Starter Shaun Marcum threw the ball well with three runs allowed on eight hits through 6.1 frames with Zach McAllister touched for two more. The bats couldn’t keep pace on seven hits and four free passes that featured RBI’s from Jason Kipnis and Michael Brantley. Danny Salazar looks for consecutive wins when he toes the rubber against the Orioles. Salazar was a 6-3 winner at Seattle in his last outing where he gave up all three runs on four hits and four walks in 5.1 innings.
Baltimore are 5-16 in their last 21 road games and are 5-14 in their last 19 games as an underdog while the under is 10-4 in their last 14 overall. Cleveland are 7-3 in their last 10 games as a favorite and the over is 13-6 in their last 19 home games while the over is 17-8 in the Indians last 25 games as a favorite. Sometimes the numbers don’t say there is a clear choice and that’s what we have here…
