The Philadelphia Phillies continue their series at Great American Ball Park against the Cincinnati Reds.

The Philadelphia Phillies are in dire need of hot streaks just to get out of the National League East basement. The hot streak will have to wait another day following a 6-4 defeat at Cincinnati. Starter Cole Hamels was charged with five runs on eight hits and two bases on balls over six frames while whiffing seven. The Phils totaled ten hits and walked twice with Carlos Ruiz driving in two runs and scoringwhile Maikel Franco went 3-4 with a run. Aaron Harang faces the Reds for the second time in as many starts. Harang struggled in the first meeting with all six runs plated (five earned) on six hits and five BB over 5.2 innings pitched.

Cincinnati Reds vs. Philadelphia Phillies - 6/9/15 MLB Pick, Odds, and Prediction

USA TODAY Sports

The Cincinnati Reds are at the point where winning streaks are a high priority as .500 baseball won’t be good enough. The Reds received solid starting pitching and the offense didn’t waste the effort. Mike Leake gave up three runs (two earned) on ten hits and a base on balls through six innings pitched to get the win. The bats posted eleven hits and walked two times with Zack Cozart going 3-4 with a homer and two RBI’s with a pair of runs while Ivan De Jesus homered and knocked in two.Cincinnati sends Anthony DeSclafani  to the bump to oppose the Phillies for the second consecutive time. DeSclafani defeated the Phillies 6-4 with four runs plated on six hits and a pair of BB in seven frames.

The over is 8-0 in Philadelphia’s last 8 Tuesday games while the Phillies  are 2-7 in their last 9 games as an underdog and are 3-10 in their last 13 overall. The over is 7-1 in Cincinnati’s last 8 overall and  is 7-1 in their last 8 on grass while the Reds are 7-2 in their last 9 Tuesday games. The over is 7-1 in the last 8 meetings and Philadelphia are 35-17 in the last 52 meetings. I don’t see a pitching edge and don’t have a strong feeling but maybe the over…
