The Seattle Mariners head to Progressive Field to face the Cleveland Indians in Tuesday action.
The Seattle Mariners are looking to get something positive going but that hasn’t been happening the past few weeks. The Mariners have dropped eight of ten following a 3-1 loss to visiting Tampa Bay on Sunday afternoon. The offense failed to get anything going and in the process a solid outing from Mike Montgomery went by the wayside. Montgomery absorbed the loss with two runs scored on five hits and a walk over seven frames. The Mariners managed seven hits and walked once with Brad Miller singling in Nelson Cruz with the lone run. Taijuan Walker toes the rubber against the Indians at Progressive Field in game one of their series. Walker was a 3-1 loser to the Yankees the last time out with all three runs plated on five hits and two homers in eight frames.

The Cleveland Indians appeared to making some headway the past few weeks but their offense stalled the past weekend in their series loss to Baltimore. The Indians were knocked off 7-3 by the Orioles on Sunday with the pitching struggling as well with Carlos Carrasco allowing five runs on seven hits and two bases on balls through four innings. The bats posted nine hits and walked three times with Ryan Rayburn driving in two with Jason Kipnis going 3-5 with a run. Corey Kluber looks to get back on the winning track when he takes the hill against the Mariners. Kluber is coming off of a 4-2 loss to Kansas City where he gave up all four runs on nine hits and nine K’s over eight innings.
Seattle are 1-8 in their last 9 overall and are 1-8 in their last 9 games on grass while going 3-7 in their last 10 Tuesday games. Cleveland are 13-6 in their last 19 overall and are 13-6 in their last 19 games on grass while going 3-9 in Kluber’s last 12 starts. Elias has been pretty good but not his team so I wouldn’t play the chalk…
