The St. Louis Cardinals looked hung over from their Sunday Night game in Los Angeles as they were crushed by the Rockies at Coors. Kolten Wong and Jon Jay each hit home runs and Jason Heyward and Mark Reynolds each had two hits as the Cardinals scored three runs on eight hits. Starting pitcher John Lackey was shelled allowing 12 hits and 10 runs, eight earned, and striking out five lasting just 4.0 innings to take the loss. For Tuesday’s game the Cardinals look to bounce back with Michael Wacha who has allowed 56 hits and 17 earned runs while striking out 47 over 70.1 innings for a 8-1 record and a 2.18 ERA.
Colorado is 10-4 as an underdog, 4-11 in game two of a series, and 22-5 in De La Rosa’s last 27 home starts against a team with a winning record. St. Louis is 7-2 as a road favorite, 12-5 in game two of a series, and 6-1 in Wacha’s last seven starts against the National League West. Colorado is 23-8 in their last 31 meetings against Colorado.
While the balls were flying on Monday the total is set at 10 for this one and I expect it to stay under that number making the under my free pick. My stronger pick is on the winning team and I will post that in the Premium Area as well as on the App.
