The Colorado Rockies look to leave South Florida and the Miami Marlins with a win Sunday afternoon.
The Colorado Rockies are faltering right now and that’s not a good thing when trying to track down the Dodgers and Giants in the National League West. The Rockies dropped a 4-1 decision at Miami for defeat number four in a row. Starter David Hale gave up all four runs on four hits and three BB over six innings to fall to 2-1. The bats five hit, two walk attack wasn’t enough to keep pace with Troy Tulowitzki driving in DJ LeMathieu with the lone run. Left hander Jorge De La Rosa ends the series on the mound at Miami on Sunday. De La Rosa has been sharp the past two times out with five runs plated on seven hits and six walks over 13 frames.

The Miami Marlins can make a run at the top of the National League East if they get hot and stay hot. The Marlins might be heading in that direction after Saturday’s win was their third straight. Mat Latos was outstanding in his first outing off the disabled list with the lone run scored on four hits and two bases on balls while whiffing eleven through seven frames. The Fish did their damage on four hits and four walks with Giancarlo Stanton leading the way on a 2-3 day with a homer and four RBI’s while Christian Yelich scoring twice. Veteran Dan Haren toes the rubber in the final game of their series with the visiting Rockies. Haren threw the ball well in a 4-3 loss at Toronto with a pair of runs scored on three hits in seven innings.
Colorado are 20-54 in their last 74 road games and are 36-75 in their last 111 Sunday games while going 2-8 in De La Rosa’s last 10 road starts. Miami are 3-8 in their last 11 Sunday games and the over is 8-2-1 in Haren’s last 11 starts on grass while the Marlins are 6-2 in Haren’s last 8 starts on grass. Haren has been awful in this match up but Colorado is struggling so use caution…
