The New York Yankees were on the outside looking in at the top spot in the American League East but they have proved the experts wrong thus far. The Yankees posted a 5-3 victory at Camden Yards Sunday with some timely hitting and the pen leading the way. Starter Adam Warren was touched for all three runs on six hits and three BB before leaving after 4.2 frames with three relievers shutting down the Orioles. The Bronx Bombers posted ten hits and walked four times with JR Murphy pacing the attack with a 3-4 afternoon and a pair of RBI’s. Masahiro Tanaka makes his third start since coming off the disabled list and first ever against Miami. Tanaka has won both starts with two runs allowed on eight hits and no walks over 14 innings.

The Fish offense totaled five hits and five walks with Ichiro Suzuki rapping an RBI single that scored JT Realmuto. Tom Koehler is slated to get the ball in the series opener against the visiting Yankees Monday. Koehler is looking to rebound form a 7-2 loss at Toronto where he was charged with six runs on eight hits including three homers in 6.2 frames.
The over is 10-4 in New York’s last 14 overall and is 10-4 in their last 14 on grass while the Yankees are 5-12 in their last 17 road games. Miami are 0-9 in their last 9 Monday games and the under is 7-1 in their last 8 home games while the Marlins are 2-6 in their last 8 interleague games.
