The Kansas City Royals shoot for consecutive victories at Miller Park against the Milwaukee Brewers.
The Kansas City Royals have been right around the .500 mark over the past few weeks and need to do better to put some distance between themselves and the rest of the American League Central. The Royals prevented a three game skid with an 8-5 win on Monday behind a big night at the plate. Edison Volquez wasn’t bad either with two runs scored over five frames with Greg Holland allowing three runs. KC did their damage on 13 hits and three BB with Lorenzo Cain going deep and driving in two while Alcides Escobar knocked in two runs and scored. Veteran Chris Young gets the start against the Brewers in game two of their series. Young is coming off of a 2-0 victory at Minnesota where he tossed a one hit shutout over 6.1 innings.

The Milwaukee Brewers know their season might be on the line in the next month or so meaning they had better string the wins together. The Brewers took a step in the wrong direction with Monday’s defeat being number three in a row. Starter Kyle Lohse was unable to control the Royals offense with five runs given up on five hits and a pair of BB through five innings of work with Neal Cotts allowing two runs. The Brew Crew had plenty of runners on eleven hits and four walks with Jonathan Lucroy leading the way with two hits and three RBI’s while Martin Maldonado smacked a two run single. Matt Garza shoots for his third straight quality start when he toes the rubber against Kansas City. Garza has allowed two earned runs in his last two outings on 13 hits in 13 innings pitched.
The under is 11-2-3 in Kansas City’s last 16 games as a favorite and is 18-5-3 in their last 26 on grass while going 18-5-3 in the Royals last 26 overall. Milwaukee are 2-8 in their last 10 Tuesday games and the over is 16-5-1 in their last 22 home games while the Brewers are 3-9 in their last 12 home games. Tough one here because Garza is capable but decent odds on the better team is how I see this…
