The Los Angeles Dodgers and the Texas Rangers face off on Thursday at Dodger Stadium as they close out their interleague MLB series.
The Los Angeles Dodgers lost for the second night in a row as they fell at home to the Rangers. Scott Van Slyke had two hits including a home run and Yasiel Puig and Hoiwie Kendrick had hits as the Dodgers scored three runs on nine hits. Starting pitcher Clayton Kershaw allowed five hits and four runs, three earned, while striking out 10 over 6.0 innings to take the loss and fall to 5-4 for the season. For Thursday’s game the Dodgers start Zack Greinke who has allowed 68 hits and 19 earned runs while striking out 75 over 87.2 innings for a 5-2 record and a 1.95 ERA.

The Texas Rangers were once again big underdogs on Wednesday and they once again looked past the odds beating the Dodgers and Kershaw. Joey Gallo and Price Fielder hit home runs and Adam Rosales had two hits as the Rangers scored five runs on eight hits. Starting pitcher Wandy Rodriguez allowed nine hits and three runs while striking out one over 5.1 innings to get the win and go to 4-2 for the season and Keone Kala earned his first save. For Thursday’s game the Rangers start Anthony Ranaudo who has allowed six hits and six runs over 1.2 innings of work this season.
Los Angeles is 4-1 after losing the first three games of a series, 37-16 in their last 53 home games, and 14-5 in Greinke’s last 19 starts. Texas is 9-0 in their last nine interleague games as an underdog, 6-1 against the NL West, and 12-4 in their last 16 games as a road underdog.
Texas has had their way this series but I see LA salvaging a win here.
