The Los Angeles Angels and the Houston Astros face off on Tuesday in Anaheim for game two of their MLB series of American League West teams.
The Los Angeles Angels fought back after losing the lead late on Monday to get the win over the Astros. Albert Pujols hit two home runs, Erick Aybar had two hits, and Kole Calhoun added a hit as the Angels scored four runs on seven hits. Starting pitcher Hector Santiago allowed two hits and a run while striking out four to not get a decision as Huston Street got the win to go to 3-2 for the season. For Tuesday’s game the Angels start C.J. Wilson who has allowed 77 hits and 35 earned runs while striking out 81 over 93 innings for a 5-5 record and a 3.39 ERA.

The Houston Astros rallied late to tie their game with the Angels but couldn’t get past that as they fell in the bottom of the ninth inning taking the loss. Domingo Santana hit a home run, Marwin Gonzalez had two hits, and Jose Altuve had a hit as the Astros scored three runs on five hits. Starting pitcher Brett Oberholtzer allowed four hits and two runs while striking out five over 5.2 innings to not get a decision as Chad Qualls took the loss. For Tuesday’s game the Astros start Collin McHugh who has allowed 94 hits and 48 earned runs while striking out 70 over 85.2 innings for a 7-3 record and a 5.04 ERA.
Los Angeles is 6-1 as a favorite, 9-4 in their last 13 home games, and 20-7 in Wilson’s last 27 starts as a favorite. Houston is 4-1 in their last five Tuesday games, 3-7 following a loss, and 14-5 in McHugh’s last 19 starts. Houston is 3-11 in their last 14 games in Los Angeles.
