The Tampa Bay Rays look to stretch their lead in the AL East with a win against the Toronto Blue Jays.
The Toronto Blue Jays rely more on their bats then their pitching and have the most explosive offense in the American League East. The Blue Jays appeared to be heading in the wrong direction with back to back defeats before the bats once again came through in an 8-5 victory at Tropicana Field. Starter Drew Hutchison gave up three runs over five innings with Todd Redmond allowing two more but the offense overcame the work on the mound on an eleven hit attack that featured homeruns off the bats of Jose Reyes, Dioner Navarro and Jose Bautista with Navarro scoring three times. RA Dickey shoots for consecutive victories when he faces the Rays for the second time in 2015. Dickey defeated the Mets 7-1 last time out with the lone run plated on three hits over 7.1 frames.

The Tampa Bay Rays have controlled the scoreboard with their pitching which has the team sitting atop the American League East. Even though the pitching struggled Monday the Rays have still won eight of eleven and are holding on to first in the division. Starter Matt Andriese was charged with four runs on five hits including three homers through 5.1 frames while Ronald Belisario was charged with three runs in 2/3 of an inning. The Rays hammered out 15 hits and walked four times with Logan Forsythe going deep while Kevin Kermaier went 3-6 with an RBI and a pair of runs. Chris Archer toes the rubber against the Blue Jays for the second time on the year. Archer comes off a 5-3 victory at Washington with all three runs plated on eight hits and two BB in five innings.
Toronto are 9-2 in their last 11 games on astroturf and are 14-4 in their last 18 overall while the over is 11-5 in Toronto’s last 16 Tuesday games. Tampa Bay are 8-2 in their last 10 overall and the under is 6-2-1 in Archer’s last 9 on astroturf. The over is 6-2 in Dickey’s last 8 starts versus the Rays. I’m going with Tampa Bay who is still red hot and hopefully do some scoring against Dickey…
