The Chicago White Sox visit Comerica Park to kick off a four game series with the Detroit Tigers.
The Chicago White Sox are in need of a two week hot streak just to get back on track and on a competitive level in the American League Central. The White Sox could not get their feet under them at the plate and ace Chris Sale suffered through a rare poor outing in Wednesday’s 6-1 defeat at Target Field. Sale was charged with all six runs on eight hits and struck out ten over 6.2 innings to absorb the loss. The bats logged seven hits with Adam LaRoche leading the way a pair of doubles and a triple and an RBI while Adam Eaton went 2-4. Rookie left hander Carlos Rodon faces the Detroit Tigers for the first time in his career. Rodon defeated Texas 3-2 last time out with both runs plated on four hits and three BB in six frames.

The Detroit Tigers seemed to be poised for a hot streak but neither the work on the mound or at the plate was strong in an 8-2 loss at Cleveland Wednesday. A three game winning streak came to a halt as starter Buck Farmer gave up five runs on eight hits with seven strikeouts through 5.1 frames before the pen gave up three more to put this one out of reach. The bats were held to five hits and one walk with JD Martinez providing the lone spark with a two run homer in the 7th to draw his team to within 5-2 at that point. Alfredo Simon draws Thursday’s pitching assignment against the visiting White Sox. Simon is looking to bounce back from a 14-3 loss to the Yankees where he was charged with seven runs in 2.2 innings.
The under is 6-1-1 in the White Sox last 8 overall and is 6-1-1 in their last 8 on grass while Chicago are 3-9 in their last 12 overall. The under is 8-3-1 in Detroit’s last 12 games as a favorite. The over is 11-4-1 in the last 16 meetings in Detroit and the White Sox are 12-31 in the last 43 meetings in Detroit. Leaning Detroit although I love what I have seen from Rodon…
