The San Francisco Giants match up with NL West foe the Colorado Rockies at AT&T Park.
The Colorado Rockies have been all over the map in the National League West thus far and need consistency. The Rockies are playing well with wins in four of five after downing the Diamondbacks 6-4 Thursday. Starter Jorge De La Rosa ended his struggles with a run scored over five frames before Christian Bergman gave up one and Boone Logan two to make things interesting. The offense totaled seven hits and walked six times that featured a pinch hit homer from Troy Tulowitzki while Nolan Arenado went deep and scored twice. Colorado turns to Chad Bettis on the bump for his second outing of the season against the Giants. Bettis comes off of a 5-1 victory against Milwaukee where he allowed the lone run on five hits and two BB in 6.1 innings.

The San Francisco Giants are playing around .500 baseball the past few weeks but that has been good enough to keep the pressure on the Dodgers. The bats led the way to consecutive victories in a 13-8 rout of San Diego. Christopher Heston was outstanding with a pair of runs scored on five hits through seven frames with Jeremy Affeldt allowing four runs on three hits and a BB without recording an out. The Giants hammered San Diego pitching for 19 hits with Buster Posey going 3-5 with three RBI’s and three runs while Gregor Blanco went 2-4 with two runs and two knocked in. Brandon Crawford had two hits with a pair of RBI’s and two runs while Joe Panik and Matt Duffy each scored twice and drove in runs. Veteran Tm Hudson looks for back to back victories when he opposes Colorado for the third time this season. Hudson defeated the Dodgers 6-2 in his last outing with both runs plated on solo jacks over 6.1 frames.
The over is 8-1 in Colorado’s last 9 overall and is 8-1 in their last 9 on grass while the under is 7-2 in the Rockies last 9 road games. San Francisco are 7-1 in their last 8 Friday games and the under is 6-1-1 in their last 8 home games while the Giants are 2-10 in their last 12 home games. The Rockies are 7-3 in the last 10 meetings. The Rockies have done surprisingly well in this match up so maybe something small at the big odds…
