The Philadelphia Phillies and the Washington Nationals face off on Saturday at Citizens Bank Ballpark for game two of their MLB series of National League East teams.

The Philadelphia Phillies fell behind early and had a tough night at the plate as they lost to the Nats on Friday. Ben Revere hit a home run, Cody Asche had two hits, and Cesar Hernandez had a hit as the Phillies scored two runs on seven hits. Starting pitcher Aaron Harang allowed nine hits and five runs, four earned, while striking out five over 6.0 innings to take the loss and go to 4-10 for the season. For Saturday’s game the Phillies start Adam Morgan who allowed six hits and a run while striking out six over 5.2 innings to get the win in his Major League debut against the Cardinals.

Philadelphia Phillies vs. Washington Nationals - 6/27/15 MLB Pick, Odds, and Prediction

USA TODAY Sports

The Washington nationals didn’t do anything special on Friday but they did enough to get the win as they beat the Phillies in Philadelphia. Matthew den Dekker hit a home run and Michael Taylor and Tyler Moore each had two hits as the Nationals scored five runs on nine hits. Starting pitcher Max Scherzer allowed five hits and two runs while striking out seven over 8.0 innings to get the win and go to 9-5 for the season and Drew Storen earned his 22nd save. For Saturday’s game the Nationals start Gio Gonzalez who has allowed 89 hits and 40 earned runs while striking out 72 over 81.2 innings for a 5-4 record and a 4.41 ERA.

Philadelphia is 8-21 against a team with a winning record, 7-23 in their last 30 games, and 1-6 against a left-handed starter. Washington is 7-0 in their last seven games, 12-4 as a road favorite, and 7-3 in Gonzalez’s last 10 starts. Washington is 7-2 in their last nine games against Philadelphia.

The Phillies haven’t been good but they have a solid chance of a win here and getting them at this price they are worth taking a chance on in my book.
