The Oakland A’s and the Colorado Rockies face off on Tuesday in Oakland in game two of their MLB series.
The Oakland Athletics scored early on Monday and it was pretty much all they needed as the cruised past the Rockies. Josh Reddick, Billy Butler, and Ike Davis each hit home runs as the A’s scored seven runs on 11 hits. Starting pitcher Kendall Graveman allowed five hits and struck out three over 7.0 scoreless innings to get the win. For Tuesday’s game the A’s start Sonny Gray who has allowed 81 hits and 25 earned runs while striking out 97 over 107.2 innings for a 9-3 record and a 2.09 ERA.

The Colorado Rockies lost for the third time in a row as they fell to the A’s in Oakland. Charlie Blackmon hit a home run, Troy Tulowitzki had three hits, and Nolan Arenado had a hit as the Rockies scored one run on seven hits. Starting pitcher David Hale allowed nine hits and five runs while striking out two over 7.0 innings to take the loss. For Tuesday’s game the Rockies start Jorge De La Rosa who has allowed 57 hits and 33 earned runs while striking out 56 over 57.2 innings for a 4-3 record and a 5.15 ERA.
Oakland is 19-6 against the NL West, 39-18 in their last 57 interleague games, and 5-2 in Gray’s last seven starts. Colorado is 4-10 as an underdog, 22-60 in their last 82 road games, and 6-2 in De La Rosa’s last eight interleague starts.
I would love to have an angle here especially with De La Rosa to be able to take a shot with the Rockies at the big price but they are streaky in their wins and losses and they are losses right now.
