The Baltimore Orioles conclude their series with the Texas Rangers on Wednesday night.
The Texas Rangers appeared to be dead in the water the past week or so but they might be on the rebound. The Rangers have won three of four after downing Baltimore 8-6 on Tuesday. Colby Lewis improved to 8-3 with five runs given up (three earned) on six hits including three homers over six frames. Texas racked up 12 hits and walked four times with Mitch Moreland smacking two bombs and driving in four while Shin-Soo Choo and Robinson Chirinos went solo. The Rangers hand the ball to Nicholas Martinez for Wednesday’s start at Baltimore. Martinez had a rare off day in a 12-2 loss at Toronto where he gave up nine runs on nine hits and four BB in six frames.

The Baltimore Orioles have taken over first in the American League East because their arms and bats have been on the same page. The Orioles pitching failed them Tuesday but they have still won seven of eleven. Starter Miguel Gonzalez was charged with six runs on eight hits including three bombs through 4.2 innings. The Birds did their damage on seven hits and a base on balls with Chris Davis slugging two bombs and knocking in fourwhile Manny Machado went solo. Left hander Wei-Yin Chen shoots for another quality outing when he faces the Rangers for the first time in 2015. Chen comes off of a 4-3 win versus Cleveland where he allowed two runs on seven hits over six innings.
The under is 6-1-1 in Texas last 8 road games and the Rangers are 2-7 in their last 9 overall while going 2-6 in their last 8 games as an underdog. Baltimore are 16-5 in their last 21 overall and are 16-5 in their last 21 games on grass while the under is 19-7-2 in their last 28 Wednesday games. Texas are 2-11 in the last 13 meetings and the over is 5-2-1 in the last 8 meetings. The Rangers are a very dangerous team and I wouldn’t pay the juice on Baltimore…
