The Line: Toronto Blue Jays -140 / Boston Red Sox +130 --- Over/Under: 9 See the Latest Odds

The Toronto Blue Jays and the rival Boston Red Sox square off at the Rogers Centre in AL East action.

The Boston Red Sox have been largely ignored thus far as winning streaks have been tough to come by.  The Red Sox could be finally getting their feet under them after a 4-3 win Tuesday was number seven in eleven contests. Rookie Eduardo Rodriguez was in control with a run plated on four hits over six frames before Tom Layne made things uncomfortable with two runs scored. The bats totaled seven hits and walked four times that featured solo homers from Jackie Bradley and David Ortiz.Rick Porcello hopes to break in to the win column at the Rogers Centre on Wednesday. Porcello did not get a decision in a 4-3 win at Tampa Bay with all three runs allowed on nine hits in six innings.

Toronto Blue Jays vs. Boston Red Sox - 7/1/15 MLB Pick, Odds, and Prediction

The Toronto Blue Jays were one of the hottest teams around a few weeks ago but have since cooled. The Blue Jays stayed cool after losing Tuesday as a red hot Marco Estrada struggled on the mound. Estrada allowed all four runs (two earned) on three hits and four free passes through 2.1 frames to fall to 5-4. The bats mustered six hits and walked twice with Jose Reyes going 2-4 with a long ball and a pair of RBI’s but the offense failed to bunch hits together against a pitcher they had just smacked around. Veteran left hander Mark Buehrle draws the start in Wednesday’s tilt against visiting Boston. Buehrle defeated Texas 12-2 last time out with both runs given up on five hits in seven frames.

The under is 6-1-1 in Boston’s last 8 on astroturf while the Red Sox  are 5-14 in their last 19 Wednesday games. The under is 8-1-2 in Toronto’s last 11 Wedneday games while the Blue Jays are 14-5 in their last 19 home games and 11-4 in their last 15 games as a favorite. I don’t have a lot of confidence in this match up but that has never stopped me…
