The New York Yankees and Boston Red Sox lock horns in their series rubber match on Sunday.
The New York Yankees might be sitting atop the American League East but there is little breathing room. The Yankees had won six of eight before dropping a 5-3 decision at Fenway Park Saturday. Starter Ivan Nova absorbed the loss with four runs given up on eight hits over 6.2 innings. The bats managed nine hits with Jacoby Ellsbury and Alex Rodriguez connecting on solo homers with Ellsbury scoring twice. Nathan Eovaldi toes the rubber against the Red Sox for the third time this season. Eovaldi did not receive a decision in a 4-3 loss to Oakland last time out with two runs allowed on six hits in 5.1 frames.

The Boston Red Sox have been playing their best baseball of the season and need to continue to be a factor in the American League East. The Red Sox stayed hot with Saturday’s win being their 8th in eleven contests. Rookie Eduardo Rodriguez gave up a pair of runs on five hits including a pair of homers through 6.1 frames. The Bats posted eleven hits and walked twice with Hanley Ramirez leaving the yard and driving in two with Mookie Betts tripling in a run and scoring while Alejandro De Aza crossed the plate twice. Left hander Wade Miley gets the call to the mound against the Yankees for the third time in 2015. Miley comes off of a 4-3 victory against the Marlins where he gave up all three runs on seven hits while whiffing nine in 6.2 innings.
The under is 6-1-2 in New York’s last 9 Sunday games and is 8-2-1 in their last 11 overall while going 8-2-1 in the Yankees last 11 on grass. The under is 7-3 in Miley’s last 10 on grass and is 9-4 in Miley’s last 13 starts overall. Not in love with either hurler but I lean Red Sox here…
