The Cleveland Indians battle the Cincinnati Reds in the series rubber match Sunday afternoon.
The Cleveland Indians have time to climb back in the American League Central but time won’t be on their side too much longer. The Indians ended a three game skid with a 9-4 rout of Cincinnati. Corey Kluber received some rare support but didn’t need it with three runs plated on seven hits over 7.2 frames. The Tribe totaled eleven hits and walked four times with Michael Brantley and Yan Gomes clubbing three run homers while Brandon Moss smacked a two run jack. Carlos Carrasco is scheduled for Sunday’s start against Cincinnati at Great American Ball Park. Carrasco was a tough luck loser in a 5-4 decision versus Oakland with just two runs scored on six hits over seven innings.

The question surrounding the Cincinnati Reds is will they ever get hot and make a run at the Cardinals in the National League Central. With Saturday’s defeat the Reds lost a game in the standings and have dropped three of four. Anthony DeSclafani was charged with six runs on eight hits through five frames with Nate Adcock allowing three more. The Reds attack consisted of eight hits and a pair of bases on balls with Jay Bruce going 2-3 with a homer and four RBI’s. Ace Johnny Cueto toes the rubber against the Indians for the first time in 2015. Cueto is coming off an 8-1 defeat at Miami where he gave up five runs (three earned) in five frames.
The under is 6-2 in Cincinnati’s last 8 overall and is 6-2 in their last 8 on grass while going 19-5-3 in Cueto’s last 27 home starts. I believe Cuto will be traded soon and he wants some big money and a big outing will only be a good thing for him…
