The Los Angeles Angels and the Boston Red Sox face off on Monday in game one of double header following Sunday Night's rare rain out in Anaheim.
The Los Angeles Angels didn’t get a ton of offense on Saturday but they got enough to get the win over the Red Sox. Kole Calhoun hit two home runs and Albert Pujols and C.J. Cron had hits as the Angels scored three runs on five hits. Starting pitcher Garrett Richards went the distance allowing two hits and striking out six for the complete game shutout win to raise his record to 10-6. For Monday’s game one the Angels start Hector Santiago who has allowed 85 hits and 28 earned runs while striking out 98 over 108.1 innings for a 6-4 record and a 2.33 ERA.

The Boston Red Sox continued to struggle at the plate as they lost on Saturday in Anaheim. Pablo Sandoval had two hits and Alejandro De Aza reached via walk as the Red Sox failed to score a run on two hits. Starting pitcher Rick Porcello allowed four hits and three runs while striking out five over 5.0 innings to take the loss and fall to 5-10 for the season. For Monday’s game one the Red Sox start Eduardo Rodriguez who has allowed 44 hits and 21 earned runs while striking out 46 over 52.2 innings for a 5-2 record and a 3.59 ERA.
Los Angeles is 7-1 in their last eight home games, 10-3 following a win, and 4-0 in Santiago’s last four starts. Boston is 9-3 in their last 12 games following a loss, 4-9 in game three of a series, and 4-1 in Rodriguez’s last five starts. Boston is 3-9 in their last 12 meetings in Los Angeles.
Even with the total as low as 7.5 I still like the under as there hasn’t been that many runs scored through the entire first two games of this series and I see that trend continuing. I also have a strong play on the winning side that is available in the Premium Area as well as on the App.
