The Oakland A’s and the Minnesota Twins face off on Sunday in Oakland in game three of their MLB series.
The Oakland A’s appeared to have let Saturday’s game get away from them but they bounced back and got the win. Billy Butler hit a home run and Billy Burns and Ike Davis had two hits each as the A’s scored three runs on 10 hits. Starting pitcher Scott Kazmir allowed five hits and a run while striking out five to not get a decision as Drew Pomeranz got the win to go to 4-3 for the season. For Saturday’s game the Athletics start Jesse Chavez who has allowed 97 hits and 38 earned runs while striking out 84 over 100.2 innings for a 4-9 record and a 3.40 ERA.

The Minnesota Twins looked like they had rallied for a win on Saturday but they let it slip away and took the loss. Brian Dozier and Joe Mauer each had two hits and Torii Hunter had a hit as the Twins scored two runs on six hits. Starting pitcher Phil Hughes allowed six hits and a run while striking out twoover 7.0 innings to not get a decision as Casey Fien took the loss after Glen Perkins took his first blown save of the year. For Sunday’s game the Twins start Tommy Milone who has allowed 61 hits and 21 earned runs while striking out 45 over 66.2 innings for a 5-1 record and a 2.84 ERA.
Oakland is 8-2 in their last 10 game three of a series, 17-36 in their last 53 games against a left-handed starter. Minnesota is 5-0 following a loss, 11-4 in game three of a series, and 1-4 in Milone’s last five road starts. Minnesota is 2-11 in their last 13 games in Oakland.
The total in this one is set at eight and I see this one coming in under that number just like the first two games in this series. My stronger play is on the winning team and I will post that in the Premium Area as well as on the App.
