The Philadelphia Phillies and the Miami Marlins take the field at Citizens Bank Park Sunday.
The Miami Marlins aren’t having the season they had hoped for as they labor in 4th in the National League East. It hasn’t been a good series at Philadelphia after Saturday’s 3-1 defeat has the Fish looking to avoid getting swept. Starter Tom Koehler gave up three runs on three hits over six frames to fall to 7-6. The offense never got their feet under them with ten hits and a walk doing little. Martin Prado went 3-4 and singled in Ichiro Suzuki with the lone run. Veteran Dan Haren will be on the bump to face the Phillies for the third time this season. Haren is coming off of an 8-1 victory against Cincinnati with the lone run scored on five hits over six frames.

The Philadelphia Phillies have been labeled the worse team in baseball but it seems they are taking out some frustration on Miami. The Phillies have won consecutive games and shoot for the sweep of the Marlins Sunday. Chad Billingsley was outstanding in allowing four hits through five scoreless innings to up his record to 2-3 while four relievers held the Marlins at bay. The Phils mustered just five hits and walked twice with Ben Revere, Ryan Howard and Dononic Brown driving in runs. Left hander Cole Hamels is charged with the series win against visiting Miami on Sunday. Hamels is looking to rebound from one of his poorest career outings in a 15-2 loss at San Francisco where he gave up nine runs on 12 hits in 3.1 innings.
The under is 9-1 in Miami’s last 10 Sunday games and is 6-2-1 in their last 9 road games while the Marlins are 18-37 in their last 55 road games. The under is 7-1-2 in Philadelphia’s last 10 games as a favorite and the over is 16-4-1 in their last 21 home games while the Phillies are 2-8 in their last 10 games as a favorite. The under is 11-2-3 in Hamels' last 16 starts vs. Miami and the over is 5-1-2 in the last 8 meetings. Haren is enjoying a comeback year but Hamels needs a win after his last debacle…
