The Chicago Cubs continue their visit to great American Ball Park for their NL Central tilt with the Cincinnati Reds.

The Chicago Cubs have been playing well this season and in doing so the postseason is a legitimate goal. The Cubs had won three of four before falling 5-4 at Cincinnati on Monday. Clayton Richard had an uneven outing with three runs allowed on four hits including a pair of homers over 5.1 frames with Justin Grimm serving up a two run bomb to take the loss. The Cubs totaled eight hits and walked six times  with Jorge Soler driving in two runs while Kris Bryant drove in a run and scored. Jason Hammel toes the rubber for the second time against Cincinnati in 2015. Hammel lost to the Reds 5-4 with four runs allowed (two earned) on seven hits and a trio of BB in five frames.

Cincinnati Reds vs. Chicago Cubs - 7/21/15 MLB Pick, Odds, and Prediction

The hot streak that the Cincinnati Reds had hoped for has yet to materialize and has made the trade rumors grow. The Reds needed a win Monday after dropping four of five and got it behind a productive offense and good work out of the bullpen. Starter Michael Lorenzen allowed all four runs on seven hits and three BB through five frames with four relievers tossing a scoreless inning each. The Reds mustered eight hits and walked three walks with Jay Bruce going deep and knocking in two while Todd Frazier and Marlon Byrd went solo.  Cincinnati turns to rookie Raisel Iglesias for Tuesday’s start against visiting Chicago. Iglesias struggled last time out in a 14-3 loss at Miami with five runs plated on eight hits and a pair of BB over 4.1 innings.

The under is 6-2 in Chicago’s last 8 Tuesday games and  is 21-8-2 in their last 31 overall while going  21-8-2 in the Cubs last 31 on grass. Cincinnati are 10-4 in their last 14 Tuesday games. The Reds have generally loved to see the Cubs although I believe Chicago has an opportunity here…
