The Colorado Rockies and the Texas Rangers face off on Tuesday at Coors Field for game two of their MLB interleague series.
The Colorado Rockies jumped out to a big lead early on Monday but they ended up having to come up with a run in the bottom of the ninth inning to get the win. Troy Tulowitzki had two hits including a home run and Carlos Gonzalez and Ben Paulsen each had two hits as the Rockies scored eight runs on 10 hits. Starting pitcher Christopher Rusin allowed seven hits and five runs, two earned, while striking out five over 6.0 innings to not factor in the decision as John Axford got the win. For Tuesday’s game the Rockies start Kyle Kendrick who has allowed 120 hits and 68 earned runs while striking out 54 over 103 innings for a 3-10 record and a 5.94 ERA.

The Texas Rangers nearly pulled off a big comeback win on Monday but they came up short falling to the Rockies. Adrian Beltre had three hits, Prince Fielder had two hits and 3 RBI’s, and Tomas Tells had two hits as the Rangers scored seven runs on 10 hits. Starting pitcher Nick Martinez was hit hard allowing seven runs and seven hits while striking out two to not get a decision as Tanner Scheppers took the loss. For Tuesday’s game the Rangers start Matt Harrison who is making his second start of the year after allowing sox runs on six hits to take the loss pitching four innings at home against the Diamondbacks.
Colorado is 6-2 against a team with a losing record, 10-25 in their last 35 interleague games, and 3-11 in Kendrick’s last 14 starts. Texas is 2-10 in their last 12 games, 1-6 against the NL West, and 0-7 in Harrison’s last seven road starts. Texas is 0-5 in their last five games in Colorado
