The Baltimore Orioles hope to end their road series with a win versus the New York Yankees.
The Baltimore Orioles have yet to go on a prolonged hot streak but they are still within striking distance of first in the National League East. The Orioles saw a two game winning streak end in Tuesday’s 3-2 loss at New York. Wei-Yin Chen gave up all three runs on ten hits over 6.1 frames to absorb the loss. The Birds mustered seven hits and walked three times with Matt Weiters and JJ Hardy driving in Manny Paredes and Adam Jones. The Orioles hand the ball to Kevin Gausman for just his 4th start of the season. Gausman will be looking to bounce back from an 8-3 defeat at Minnesota where he allowed all eight runs on seven hits in 3.2 frames.

The New York Yankees are probably a bit surprising with their first place standing in the American League East but their lead is far from secure. With Tuesday’s win the Yankees have won seven of nine. This one was all about pitching with Nathan Eovaldi giving up both runs on four hits and three BB with a trio of relievers putting up zeros. The Bronx Bombers logged eleven hits and walked twice with Alex Rodriguez, Chase Headley and Bredan Ryan driving in runs. Ivan Nova heads to the mound to face the Orioles for the first time this season on Wednesday. Nova is coming off of a 5-3 loss at Fenway Park with four runs being plated on eight hits over 6.2 innings.
The under is 18-6-2 in Baltimore’s last 26 Wednesday game while the Orioles are 4-9 in their last 13 overall and 4-9 in their last 13 games on grass. The under is 12-3-1 in the Yankee’s last 16 overall and is 12-3-1 in their last 16 on grass while New York are 6-2 in their last 8 overall. I don’t know what’s wrong with Baltimore but hopefully they get one here…
