The Reds have split their last eight games when scoring more than three runs. Todd Frazier leads Cincinnati with 103 hits and 63 RBI while Joey Votto and Brandon Phillips have combined for 77 RBI. The Cincinnati Reds have lost six of their last nine road games. Anthony DeSclafani gets the nod, and he’s 5-7 with a 3.99 ERA and 78 strikeouts this season. This will be DeSclafani’s first career game against the Rockies.

Rockies vs. Reds - 7/24/15 MLB Pick, Odds, and Prediction

USA TODAY Sports

The Colorado Rockies look for a win after splitting their last 10 games. The Rockies have scored 16 runs in their last three games and four or more runs in six of their last nine games. The Rockies have won five of their last seven games when scoring more than three runs. DJ LeMahieu leads Colorado with 105 hits and 37 RBI while Charlie Blackmon and Nolan Arenado have combined for 114 RBI. The Colorado Rockies have won five of their last seven home games. Eddie Butler takes the hill, and he’s 3-6 with a 4.80 ERA and 29 strikeouts this season. This will be Butler’s second career game against the Reds.

The Reds are 5-2 in their last 7 games following a loss and 2-7 in their last 9 vs. National League West. The Rockies are 5-2 in their last 7 vs. National League Central and 2-5 in Butlers last 7 starts. The Reds are 7-19 in the last 26 meetings in Colorado and 1-4 in the last 5 meetings overall.

Both of these pitchers are coming off starts in which they allowed six earned runs. They've also had spotty moments throughout the season as well. Hard to feel confident in either of these teams, but the Rockies have had some success at home, which is why I'll take the small chalk.
