The Arizona Diamondbacks and the Milwaukee Brewers face off on Saturday in Arizona for game three of their MLB series after splitting the first two games.
The Arizona Diamondbacks just couldn’t get runs across the plate as they lost on Friday to the Brewers. Ender Inciarte had three hit s and Paul Goldschmidt and A.J. Pollack each had hits the Diamondbacks scored one run on eight hits. Starting pitcher Patrick Corbin allowed four hits and a run while striking out 10 over 7.0 innings to take the loss and fall to 1-3 for the season. For Saturday’s game the Diamondbacks start Rubby De La Rosa who has allowed 121 hits and 63 earned runs while striking out 100 over 117.1 innings for a 7-5 record and a 4.83 ERA.

The Milwaukee Brewers bounced back from Thursday’s loss to get the win on Friday in Arizona. Ryan Braun hit a home run, Jonathan Lucroy had three hits, and Gerrardo Parra had a hit as the Brewers scored two runs on six hits. Starting pitcher Jimmy Nelson allowed five hitsand struck out five over seven innings to get the win to go to 8-9 for the season and Francisco Rodriguez earned his 22nd save. For Saturday’s game the Brewers start Taylor Jungmann who has allowed 39 hits and 12 runs while striking out 39 over 53 innings for a 5-1 record and a 2.04 ERA.
Arizona is 2-7 in their last nine home games, 2-9 in their last 11 games, and 1-4 in De La Rosa’s last five starts. Milwaukee is 5-1 in game three of a series, 9-3 in their last 12 road games, and 4-0 in Jungmann’s last four starts.
