The Baltimore Orioles shoot for a win in game two of their series at Tampa Bay on Saturday.
If the Baltimore Orioles are going to capture the American League East for the second straight year they need to begin winning soon. That didn’t happen Friday in a 3-1 defeat at Tropicana Field to saddle the Birds with four straight losses. Starter Chris Tillman was charged with one run over seven frames before Darren O’Day gave up two 8th inning runs to absorb the loss. The O’s posted six hits and walked twice with Chris Davis driving in Manny Machado. Miguel Gonzalez toes the rubber for the 4th time in 2015 against Tampa Bay. Gonzalez comes off of a 9-3 victory at Detroit with a pair of runs scored on six hits and two BB in five frames.

The Tampa Bay Rays have struggled to score which is the reason they are just around .500 on the year. The Rays had dropped three of four heading in to Friday’s series opener versus visiting Baltimore before some late offense gave great pitching a helping hand. Chris Archer allowed the lone run through six frames while whiffing nine with three relievers keeping the Orioles at bay. The Rays did their damage on five hits and four walks with Tim Beckham driving in two while John Jaso knocked in a run and scored. Erasmo Ramirez will get the start against the Orioles for the second time on the year. Ramirez did not receive a decision in a 3-2 win at Toronto with a run given up on four hits over 4.2 innings.
The under is 8-2-1 in Baltimore’s last 11 Saturday games while the Orioles are 2-7 in their last 9 road games and are 4-12 in their last 16 overall. The under is 6-1-2 in Tampa Bay’s last 9 overall and is 19-7 in their last 26 Saturday games and the Rays are 6-15 in their last 21 overall. Baltimore are 9-4 in Gonzalez’ last 13 starts vs. Tampa Bay. This is the definition of a coin flip…
