The New York Yankees look for consecutive road wins against the Texas Rangers.
The New York Yankees aren’t giving an inch to the rest of the American League East with victories in nine of eleven after a series opening 6-2 win at Texas. Starter Ivan Nova allowed both runs on five hits and a pair of free passes over five innings with three relievers putting up zeros. The Bronx Bombers logged eleven hits and walked three times with Didi Gregorius going deep and driving in four while Alex Rodriguez went solo with Chase Headley scoring twice. It is Mashiro Tanaka’s turn in the rotation but the Yankees might give him extra rest and throw the bull pen in this one.

The Texas Rangers were surging with four consecutive victories but have dropped consecutive contests after Monday’s defeat at the hands of the visiting Yankees. Starter Matt Harrison was hit hard with all six runs given up on six hits including a pair of long balls. The Rangers offense couldn’t keep up on the scoreboard with five hits and five bases on balls that saw Elvis Andrus drive in a run and score while Leonys Martin drove in a run with Josh Hamilton scoring. Martin Perez makes his third start of the season and first versus the visiting Yankees. Perex comes off of a 10-8 win against Colorado where he gave up four runs (three earned) on six hits and four BB over six frames.
The under is 7-1 in the Yankees last 8 games as an underdog. Texas are 1-10 in their last 11 home games while the over is 6-2 in their last 8 overall and is 6-2 in the Rangers last 8 on grass. The under is 6-1-2 in the last 9 meetings in Texas and is 11-3-1 in the last 15 meetings. The problem here is what are the Yankees doing on the mound. If Tanaka is pitching I’ll back him and if not I’ll try to update…
