The Los Angeles Dodgers and the Oakland A’s face off on Wednesday at Dodger Stadium in game two of their interleague series.
The Los Angeles Dodgers could muster any offense on Tuesday as they lost to the A’s. Howie Kendrick had two hits, Adrian Gonzalez had a hit, and Andre Ethier reached via walk as the Dodgers failed to score on three hits. Starting pitcher Brett Anderson allowed five hits and two runs while striking out two over 7.0 innings to take the loss and fall to 5-6 for the season. For Wednesday’s game the Dodgers start Clayton Kershaw who has allowed 105 hits and 39 earned runs while striking out 185 over 140 innings for an 8-6 record and a 2.51 ERA.

The Oakland A’s didn’t get a lot of scoring on Tuesday but they didn’t need much as they beat the Dodgers in Los Angeles. Josh Reddick had three hits including a home run and Billy Burns and Marcus Semien each had hits as the A’s scored two runs on six hits. Starting pitcher Sonny Gray allowed three hits and struck out nine over 9.0 innings to get the win and go to 11-4 for the season. For Wednesday’s game the A’s start Jesse Chavez who has allowed 108 hits and 42 runs while striking out 94 over 109.2 innings for a 5-10 record and a 3.45 ERA.
Los Angeles is 44-22 in their last 66 home games, 1-5 against the AL West, and 47-22 in Kershaw’s last 69 home starts. Oakland is 22-10 against the NL West, 18-41 as an underdog, and 1-4 in Chavez’s last five starts. Oakland is 5-0 in their last five games against Los Angeles.
While the A’s have the Dodgers number Kershaw has been on fire and I look for the Dodgers to get the win here.
