The Los Angeles Dodgers and the Los Angeles Angels face off on Saturday at Dodger Stadium for game two of their MLB interleague series.
The Los Angele Dodgers got their series with the Angels started on the right foot getting the win on Friday. Howie Kendrick and Alex Guerrero each hit home runs and Yasmani Grandal had three hits as the Dodgers scored five runs on 10 hits. Starting pitcher Zack Greinke allowed five hits and two runs while striking out eight over 8.0 innings to get the win and go to 10-2 for the season and Kenley Jansen earned his 18th save. For Saturday’s game the Dodgers start Clayton Kershaw who has allowed 105 hits and 39 runs while striking out 185 over 140 innings for an 8-6 record and a 2.51 ERA.

The Los Angeles Angels are battling the Astros for first place in the AL West but they didn’t help themselves on Friday losing to the Dodgers. Mike Trout had three hits including a home run and Kole Calhoun had three hits as the Angels scored three runs on six hits. Starting pitcher Hector Santiago allowed nine hits and five runs while striking out three over 5.0 innings to take the loss and fall to 7-5 for the season. For Saturday’s game the Angels start Andrew Heaney who has allowed 30 hits and eight earned runs while striking out 31 over 40.1 innings for a 5-0 record and a 1.79 ERA.
The Dodgers are 7-2 in their last nine interleague home games, 502 against a left-handed starter, and 38-17 in Kershaw’s last 55 starts. The Angels are 8-1 against a left-handed starter, 7-2 in game two of a series, and 6-0 in Heaney’s last six starts.
While Heaney has been amazing, he falls to Earth here against the first ballot Hall of Famer Kershaw as the Dodgers get the win.
