The Los Angeles Dodgers take the field at Citizens Bank Park to face the Philadelphia Phillies on Tuesday.
The Los Angeles Dodgers are red hot and need to stay that way with San Francisco right on their tail. The Dodgers have won seven of ten after downing the Angels 5-3 for win number four in a row. Newcomer Mat Latos was dominant on the mound wit a run given up on four hits over six frames but did not receive a decision. The bats logged nine hits and walked three times with Andre Ethire going 2-5 with a homer and three RBI’s and two runs while Howie Kendrick went 2-5 with a homer and a pair of RBI’s. Alex Wood toes the rubber for the first time as a Dodger when he faces Philadelphia for the 4th time in 2015. Wood did not receive a decision in a 2-1 loss at Baltimore with seven scoreless innings.
USA TODAY Sports
The Philadelphia Phillies are the hottest team in the game and the question is how long can the good times last. The Phillies are coming off of a 6-2 defeat at the hands of visiting Atlanta on Sunday but have still won eight of ten overall. Rookie Adam Morgan fell to 2-3 with four runs plated through five innings with Justin De Fratus allowing two more runs over 1.2 frames. The Phils totaled ten hits with Odubel Herrera and Cody Asche driving in runs with Cesar Hernandez and Ryan Howard scoring. Veteran Jerome Williams takes the mound against the Dodgers for the first time since 2012. Williams was hit hard in an 8-2 loss at Toronto with four runs scored on ten hits over 4.2 frames.
The under is 16-7-1 in the last 24 road games. Philadelphia are 7-1 in their last 8 games on grass and the over is 20-5-3 in their last 28 home games while the Phillies are 12-3 in their last 15 overall. The under is 10-4-1 in the last 15 meetings. I’m not willing to lay the juice here but I’ll throw this out there…
