The Pittsburgh Pirates and the Chicago Cubs face off on Tuesday in Pittsburgh after Monday’s game was postponed.
The Pittsburgh Pirates and the Chicago Cubs gave it their best effort to get a game played on Monday but after two lengthy delays the game was called with he score 1-1 and since it didn’t go five innings it will be replayed from the start. Both the Cubs and Pirates had top pitchers going Monday as the Pirates wasted a start from Francsco Liriano and the Cubs waster Jon Lester’s turn in the rotation.

The Pirates have the second best record in the NL and look to be a sure thing for at the very worst the National League Wildcard while the Cubs are just percentage points ahead of the Giants for the final Wildcard spot in the NL.
For Tuesday’s game the Pirates start J.A. Happ who was recently acquired from the Mariners. The Cubs go with Jake Arreita who is 11-6 with a 2.62 ERA for the season and 1-1 with a 2.37 ERA in his last three starts.
The Pirates are 5-1 in their last six Tuesday games, 5-1 against a team with a winning record, and 2-5 against the NL Central. The Cubs are 5-0 in their last five road games, 5-2 against a team with a winning record, and 5-1 in Arrieta’s last six starts. Chicago is 6-15 in their last 21 games in Pittsburgh.
I always like getting the better team as a dog but I like it even more when it is a home dog as is the case here.
