The Milwaukee Brewers and the San Diego Padres face off on Wednesday at Miller Park in game three of their MLB series.
The Milwaukee Brewers avenged Monday’s loss to the padres getting the win on Tuesday. Ryan Braun and Shane Peterson each had two hits and Khris Davis added a hot as the Brewers scored four runs on 11 hits. Starting pitcher Jimmy Nelson allowed three hits and a run while striking out four over 6.2 innings to get the win to raise his record to 9-9 and Francisco Rodriguez earned his 24th save. For Wednesday’s game the Brewers start Taylor Jungmann who has allowed 50 hits and 16 earned runs while striking out 53 over 64.2 innings for a 5-3 record and a 2.23 ERA.

The San Diego Padres have been strong recently but they weren’t good enough on Tuesday as they lost to the Brewers. Alexi Amarista had two hits and Yangervis Solarte and Matt Kemp each had hits as the Padres scored one run on six hits. Starting pitcher Andrew Cashner allowed eight hits and two runs while striking out five over 6.0 innings to take the loss and fall to 4-11 for the season. For Wednesday’s game the Padres start Ian Kennedy who has allowed 103 hits and 51 earned runs while striking out 94 over 1-3.1 innings for a 6-9 record and a 4.44 ERA.
Milwaukee is 8-25 against the NL West, 1-6 in their last seven games, and 1-6 in their last seven home games. San Diego is 5-1 in their last six road games, 5-2 in their last seven games, and 5-1 in Kennedy’s last six starts in game three of a series.
The total here is just a bit too low so my free pick in this game is the over.
