The Texas Rangers are right in the middle of the Wild Card race and show no signs of going away. The Rangers hot run continued as they have now won six of seven to keep pace in the Wild Card race. Starter Yovani Gallardo was just good enough with all three runs plated on four hits and a trio of BB through five innings with four relievers putting up zeros. The offense made that effort hold up with a ten hit, three walk attack that featured Prince Fielder’s 16th homer. Delino DeShields Jr. drove in a run and scored while Josh Hamilton and Rougned Odor posted two hits each and drove in a run. Nicholas Martinez draws Wednesday’s start against the visiting Astros for the first time in 2015. Martinez comes in off of a 6-3 win against San Francisco where he allowed two runs in 6.1 frames.

The over is 7-2 in Texas last 9 Wednesday games while the Rangers are 5-12 in Martinez’s last 17 home starts. Houston are 8-22 in the last 30 meetings in Texas and are 22-50 in the last 72 meetings.
