The Milwaukee Brewers welcome the rival St Louis Cardinals to Miller Park Friday night.

The St Louis Cardinals have been in cruise control the last few weeks as they hover around .500 in this stretch. The Cardinals turned to their pitching Thursday in a 3-0 win at Cincinnati. Starter Michael Wacha had been struggling but not this time with a four hit shutout over seven frames to get the win. The Redbirds mustered five hits and walked four times with Kolten Wang smacking a two run single with Tony Cruz driving in a run while Jason Heyward scored twice. Lance Lynn draws the series opening start against the Brewers who he faces for the 4th time. Lynn comes off of a 6-2 defeat to Colorado with four runs given up on seven hits including two bombs in five frames.

USA TODAY Sports

The Milwaukee Brewers have been thrust in to the roll of spoiler and have been for awhile. The Brewers certainly ruined the Padres week by sweeping their three game set following 10-1 victory on Thursday afternoon. Matt Garza was dominant on the mound with the lone run plated on two hits and a pair of BB through seven innings. The Brew Crew pounded San Diego pitching for14 hits and four walks with Khris Davis going deep twice and driving in six runs. Adam Lind went 3-4 and drove in three while four players score two runs each and every starter hit safely. Veteran Kyle Lohse is slated to oppose division rival St Louis on Friday night. Lohse has yet to right the ship this season and is just 5-13 with a hefty 6.31 ERA covering 22 starts.

St Louis are 16-5 in their last 21 Friday games and the under is 43-21-3 in their last 67 overall while going  43-21-3 in the Cardinals last 67 on grass. The under is 9-2-2 in Milwaukee’s last 13 overall and  is 9-2-2 in their last 13 on grass while the Brewers are 7-2 in their last 9 Friday games. St Louis are 51-24 in the last 75 meetings. To put it simply I am not a fan of Lohse…
