Charlie Blackmon and Nick Hundley each had three hits and Nolan Arenado had two hits as the Rockies scored five run on 10 hits. Starting pitcher Jonathan Gray allowed four hits and a run while striking out five over 5.0 innings to not get a decision as Tommy Kahnle blew the save and took the loss. Starting pitcher Andrew Cashner allowed seven hits and four runs hwile striking out two over 5.0 innings to not get a decision as Kevin Quackenbush earned the win to go to 2-2 for the season and Craig Kimbrel earned his 33rd save. For Sunday’s game the Padres start Ian Kennedy who has allowed 112 hits and 56 earned runs while striking out 105 over 115.1 innings for a 7-10 record and a 4.37 ERA.
Colorado is 4-1 in their last five Sunday games, 0-6 in their last six games, and 2-6 in Rusin’s last eight starts. San Diego is 4-7 in their last 11 games, 3-14 in game three of a series, and 4-1 in Kennedy’s last five starts. San Diego has won their last seven games against Colorado.
