The Seattle Mariners go on the road to face the Texas Rangers in AL West action on Monday.
The Seattle Mariners won’t be in the postseason but with so many games on their schedule against contenders they might decide who gets in. The Mariners avoided the sweep at Fenway Park on Sunday with a 10-8 win on Sunday in a game they led 7-0. Starter Vidal Nuno gave up four runs on nine hits over 4.1 frames with three relievers giving up four more runs. The M’s racked up 18 hits and walked four times with Nelson Cruz going solo while Robinson Cano and Franklin Gutierrez went deep and combined for seven RBI’s and four runs. The Mariners are slated to send Taijuan Walker to the hill to oppose the Rangers for the second time in 2015. Walker defeated the Orioles 6-5 last time out with two runs plated on five hits in six frames.

The Texas Rangers are trying to regain the form that has made them a playoff threat. The Rangers have held up their end of the bargain with four consecutive victories following a 5-3 win versus visiting Tampa Bay on Sunday. Yovani Gallardo survived several jams with three runs scored on eleven hits through 5.1 innings before four relievers put up zeros. The bats totaled nine hits with Adrian Beltre slamming a two run bomb while Ryan Strausborger went 3-4 with a solo homerun. Left hander Cole Hamels toes the rubber for his second straight start against the Mariners on Monday. Hamels dropped a 4-3 decision in that one with all four runs plated on eight hits including three homers over six innings.
The over is 6-2 in Seattle’s last 8 games as an underdog and is 8-3 in their last 11 overall while going 8-3 in their last 11 on grass. Texas are 6-2 in their last 8 Monday games and are 3-8 in their last 11 games as a favorite and the under is 11-5-2 in their last 18 Monday games. Seattle are 7-1 in the last 8 meetings and the under is 8-3 in the last 11 meetings. Walker has been far better then Hamels so for me it’s the dog or nothing and maybe nothing is the best bet…
