The Kansas City Royals pay a visit to Great American Ball Park to tangle with the Cincinnati Reds.

The Cincinnati Reds have decided to rebuild when they traded away Mike Leake and Johnny Cueto so that means several new faces will be getting a good look with an eye on 2016. The Reds gave Zack Greinke and the Dodgers all they could handle in a 2-1 road defeat on Sunday afternoon. Starter Anthony DeScalfani gave up both runs on solo jacks over six frames to fall to 7-8. The offense wasn’t able to to do much damage against the stingy Greinke with six hits and a pair of  bases on balls with a Billy Hamilton sacrifice fly scoring Marlon Byrd with the lone run. Raisel Iglesias shoots for back to back victories when he opposes dangerous Kansas City on Tuesday. Iglesias is 3-4 with a 4.70 ERA covering 12 outings including ten starts.

The Royals have been heading in that direction after a 4-3 win versus the Angels on Sunday Night Baseball gave the team wins in eight of ten. Starter Yordano Ventura allowed two runs on five hits and struck out seven through seven innings but did not get a decision. KC mustered five hits and walked seven times with Ben Zobrist going 2-4 with an RBI and two runs while Eric Hosmer was 1-2 with three bases on balls that he turned in to an RBI and run. Edinson Volquez draws Tuesday’s start at Great American Ball Park in interleague action. Volquez has been a steady member of the Royals rotation with an 11-7 record with a 3.27 ERA.

Kansas City are 8-2 in their last 10 overall and are 2-6 in their last 8 road games while going  6-2 in their last 8 interleague games. Cincinnati are 3-9 in their last 12 overall and  are 3-9 in their last 12 games on grass while the over is 6-2 in their last 8 interleague home games. The Royals are 7-1 in the last 8 meetings. The Royals are hot and Volquez knows the Reds so…
