The Los Angeles Dodgers take the field with the Oakland Athletics in interleague action on Tuesday.
The Los Angeles Dodgers are fighting to fend off rival San Francisco in the National League Central. They held serve Sunday as they squeezed by visiting Cincinnati behind outstanding work on the mound. Zack Greinke upped his record to 13-2 with the lone run plated on six hits while striking out eight over seven frames. The offense logged seven hits with Greinke and Joc Pederson connecting on solo jacks in the 4th to provide the winning margin. The Dodgers send ace left hander Clayton Kershaw to the hill to face the Athletics on Tuesday night. Kershaw is throwing like a Cy Young contender and is 10-6 with a 2.39 ERA in 23 starts.

The Oakland Athletics just can’t seem to string anything positive together in 2015 which is why they are down in the standings. The Athletics slide reached seven games following a 4-2 defeat at Baltimore on Monday. Not even Sonny Gray could save the A’s as he was charged with all four runs but only one was earned. Gray gave up seven hits including a three run homer in the 4th. The offense managed three hits and walked four times with Mark Canha and Danny Valencia smack solo homers. The Athletics turn to left hander Felix Doubront for Tuesday’s start against the Dodgers. Doubront has made only seven appearances in 2015 including four starts while going 1-1 with a 4.59 ERA.
The Dodgers are 2-6 in their last 8 road games and the over is 8-3 in their last 11 on grass while going 8-3 in their last 11 overall. The under is 6-2-1 in Oakland’s last 9 interleague games and is 18-8-3 in their last 29 home games. Los Angeles are 1-11 in the last 12 meetings in Oakland. I’m just going with the first place squad with one of the best on the mound…
