The Philadelphia Phillies shoot for another win in south Florida against the Miami Marlins.
The Philadelphia Phillies are not as hot as they were a few weeks ago with neither the arms or bats getting on the same page. The Phillies have won back to back contests after knocking off the Marlins 4-2 on Saturday. Aaron Harang gave up both runs on just two hits and four free passes over seven frames to get the win. The bats produced nine hits and walked three times with Aaron Altherr, Darin Ruf and Darnell Sweeney launching solo homers. Rookie Aaron Nola makes his 7th start of the season and first against the Marlins. Nola comes off of an 8-5 loss to Toronto with three runs scored on four hits and four BB in five frames.

The Miami Marlins are trying to avoid the basement in the National League East. The Marlins have now dropped three of four as their offense and pen both struggled. Starter Justin Nicolino allowed two runs on five hits through 7.2 frames with AJ Ramos giving up a pair of solo jacks in the 9th. The Fish were held to three hits and five bases on balls with Derek Dietrich doubling in Dee Gordon and Ichiro Suzuki.Rookie left hander Adam Conley gets his 4th career start versus visiting Philadelphia Sunday. Conley did not receive a decision in a 9-6 win at Milwaukee with four runs allowed on nine hits in 3.2 innings.
Philadelphia are 23-52 in their last 75 road games. The over is 17-4-1 in Miami’s last 22 overall and is 17-4-1 in their last 22 on grass while going 11-4 in their last 15 Sun. games. Philadelphia are 4-9 in the last 13 meetings in Miami. This doesn’t look like a great betting opportunity but I’ll throw this out there…
