The Texas Rangers are well within striking distance of Houston in the American League West although back to back defeats haven’t helped their cause. Starter Colby Lewis was hit hard with five runs plated on six hits through five frames with Spencer Patton allowing five runs without recording an out. The Rangers totaled ten hits and walked twice with Adrian Beltre slamming a two run homer while Shin-Soo Choo went 3-5 with a run and two runs driven in. Veteran Yovani Gallardo draws the start in the final game of the series against visiting Toronto. Gallardo comes off of a 5-3 victory at Detroit where he tossed six scoreless frames.
Toronto are 21-6 in their last 27 overall and are 36-15 in their last 51 games as a favorite while going 6-2 in Estrada’s last 8 road starts. The under is 7-1-1 in Texas last 9 overall and the under is 7-1-1 in their last 9 on grass while the Rangers are 9-2 in their last 11 home games. The under is 7-1 in the last 8 meetings in Texas and Toronto are 7-1 in the last 8 meetings in Texas. Gallardo is very capable but so is Estrada but the chalk is a killer…
