The Cleveland Indians and the Los Angeles Angels face off on Saturday at Progressive Field for game two of their MLB series.
The Cleveland Indians rallied late on Friday to get the win over the Angels. Ryan Raburn had two hits and Carlos Santana and Jason Kipnis each had hits as the Indians scored three runs on 10 hits. Starting pitcher Trevor Bauer allowed five hits and a run while striking out seven over 8.0 innings to get the win and raise his record to 10-10 for the season and Cody Allen earned his 27th save. For Saturday’s game the Indians start Corey Kluber who has allowed 164 hits and 74 earned runs while striking out 213 over 194.1 innings for an 8-13 record and a 3.43 ERA.

The Los Angeles Angels just couldn’t get the bat on the ball o Friday as they fell to the Indians. Albert Pujols, David Murphy, and C.J. Cron each had hits as the Angels scored one run on five hits. Starting pitcher Andrew Heaney allowed six hits and struck out three over 6.0 scoreless innings to not get a decision as Trevor Gott took the loss. For Saturday’s game the Angels start Garrett Richards who has allowed 142 hits and 65 earned runs while striking out 121 over 154 innings for a 12-10 record and a 3.80 ERA.
Cleveland is 7-1 in their last eight home games, 6-2 in their last eight games, and 26-12 in Kluber’s last 38 home starts. Los Angeles is 2-6 in their last eight games, 9-4 in their last 13 road games against a team with a losing home record, and 7-2 in Richards’ last nine starts against the AL Central. Los Angeles is 7-4 in the last 11 meetings of these two.
The Angeles looked lifeless on Friday and facing Kluber isn’t going to help them and I look for the Indians to win again.
