The Cleveland Indians and the Los Angeles Angels face off on Sunday at Progressive Field as they wrap up their MLB series.
The Cleveland Indians have had a disappointing season but they had no problem with the Angels on Saturday. Yan Gomes hit a home run, Michael Brantley had three hits, and Francisco Lindor was among those with two hits as the Indians scored eight runs on 12 hits. Startig pitcher Corey Kluber allowed five hits and three runs, two earned, while striking out six over 6.0 innings to not get a decision as Bryan Shaw got the win to go to 3-2 for the season. For Sunday’s game the Indians start Josh Tomlin who has allowed 12 hits and seven runs while striking out 18 over 19.1 innings for a 2-1 record and a 3.26 ERA.

The Los Angeles Angels continued their slide as they lost to the Indians on Saturday. Kole Calhoun and David Murphy hit home runs and C.J. Cron had two hits as the Angels scored three runs on six hits. Starting pitcher Garrett Richards allowed seven hits and three runs while striking out nine over 7.0 innings to not get a decision as Joe Smth took the loss. For Sunday’s game the Angels start Jered Weaver who has allowed 124 hits and 61 earned runs while striking out 65 over 119.2 innings for a 6-9 record and a 4.59 ERA.
Cleveland is 5-1 in their last six games, 10-2 as a favorite, and 2-7 in Tomlin’s last nine starts.
