The Texas Rangers and the Baltimore Orioles face off on Sunday in Arlington as they close out their MLB series.
The Texas Rangers continued their run at the post season as they beat the Orioles on Saturday. Adrian Beltre hit a home run and Delino DeShields Jr and Will Venable had two hits each as the Rangers scored four runs on 12 hits. Starting pitcher Martin Perez allowed allowed seven hits and three runs while striking out four over 6.1 innings to get the win and raise his record to 2-3 for the season and Shawn Tolleson earned his 28th save. For Sunday’s game the Rangers start Dave Holland who has allowed 17 hits and seven runs while striking out nine over 13.1 innings for a 1-1 record and a 4.72 ERA.

The Baltimore Orioles are watching their post-season hopes fade as they lost once again to the Rangers. Steve Pearce hit a home run and Caleb Joseph and Daniel Alvarez each had two hits as the Orioles scored three runs on nine hits. Starting pitcher Ubaldo Jimenez allowed eight hits and four earned runs while striking out three over 5.2 innings to take the loss and fall to 9-9 for the season. For Sunday’s game the Orioles start Miguel Gonzalez who has allowed 140 hits and 72 earned runs while striking out 103 over 135.2 innings for a 9-10 record and a 4.78 ERA.
Texas is 7-0 as a home favorite, 12-3 in their last 15 home games, and 6-2 in Holland’s last eight home starts. Baltimore is 22-10 in game three of a series, 7-24 against a team with a winning record, and 1-5 in Gonzalez’s last six starts. Baltimore is 1-5 in their last six games against Texas.
