The Colorado Rockies and the Arizona Diamondbacks face off on Wednesday at Coors Field as they continue their MLB series.
The Colorado Rockies continued their struggles on Tuesday as they were swept at home in a double-header by the Diamondbacks. In game two Nolan Arenado had three hits including a home run, Christhian Adames had a hit, and Charlie Blackmon had a hit as the Rockies scored three runs on eight hits. Starting pitcher Kyle Kendrick allowed three hits and a run while striking out two over 4.o innings to not get a decision as Scott Oberg took the loss. For Wednesday’s game the Rockies start Jonathan Gray who has allowed 25 hits and 14 earned runs while striking out 20 over 21 innings for a 6.00 ERA.

The Arizona Diamondbacks dominated the Rockies on Tuesday sweeping a double-header. In game two Paul Goldschmidt and A.J. Pollack each hit home runs and Chris owings had a hit as the Diamondbacks scored five runs on eight hits. Starting pitcher Rubby De La Rosa allowed six hits and three runs while striking out three over 6.0 innings to get the win and raise his record to 12-6 for the season and Josh Collmenter earned the save. For Wednesday’s game the Diamondbacks start Chase Anderson who has allowed 140 hits and 63 earned runs while striking out 89 over 134.1 innings for a 6-5 record and a 4.22 ERA.
Colorado is 6-16 in their last 22 games, 3-11 against the NL West, and 0-5 in Gray’s last five starts. Arizona is 5-1 in their last six road games, 3-7 in their last 10 games, and 5-1 in Anderson’s last six starts against a team with a losing record. Arizona is 10-4 in the last 14 meetings of these two.
The Rockies have just packed it in and the D-backs take advantage of that and win again.
